Do we really think newcomers to ham radio will be interested in a CW rig? I
doubt it. Now add SSB and maybe you'll have some attraction for the
newcomer. As we most all realize, the code requirement was very often one
of the points that keep newcomers from getting their license.

I certainly benefitted from that when starting on my station. To me, getting new folks involved in clubs, and clubs taking that role seriously, is more important than marketing this or that. |
