I have bought several rigs off of this list, and others from the e-place and other internet reflectors. With the exception of an old Vibroplex bug (tested and in working order...according to the ad on the e-place) which arrived with the broken parts lovingly packed in the box, and was missing the essential connector straps on the bottom, all of the units have been fairly described, and they all have worked. There are unscrupulous hams. But also one has to realize that bad things can happen during shipment. In fact, when I worked for Motorola back in the early 1970s, I would occasionally retest one of my radios that had been packed for shipment. I knew that it worked when I tested it, but after getting boxed and bounced by a forklift or two, there were a few that did not work when I retested them. Go figure. I have no problem with using postal money orders to buy stuff, and I have also used bank money orders. I have sold boatanchor radios to people, and have not been stiffed yet. There is no way to achieve perfection and total certainty on this mortal plane, but with some prudence and care, both parties of a transaction can be made happy. All things considered, the Internet has been a real boon to people looking to buy otherwise hard to find equipment.
