There is a very good video of Hallicrafters building the BC-610 on the Internet. Too bad I can't remember where.
But it was a B&W video made by Hallicrafters.

I think it's pretty reasonable to assume that in time of war, when the
Military needs so many radios -- now -- that manufacturing would be
subcontracted (by the military or the original contractor) to multiple
manufacturers.  Heck, that's why so few of the original WW2 Jeeps were built
by the designer, Willy's!
