Yes, that's the way they do it around here.

Although, one of the guys in the contest group I was invited to join, likes to pound calling CQ by hand, and he claims hand-generated code calling CQ is somehow more distinct, and gets more attention, than machine generated code. So he pounds out CQ by hand, and does the rest with the memory keyer.

By the way, he's nearly deaf, so the fact he can do code at all is an amazing thing. He says he cannot really hear the tone, but can still feel the rhythm in his ears, and it's that rhythm, not the tone, that he senses - and which he says is the essence of it all. So like Johnny Cash, you "got to have rhythm."
