Well I guess it depends on the SWR, doesn't it.

I have had 3 of these tuners, and still use one daily.
With an openwire fed dipole, on certain bands it arcs with just 1KW.
Of course adding 1/8 wavelength of additional feedline cures that.

BTW, I do not use the built in balun unless I'm running barefoot.
I have a home brew "Monster Balun" external to the box.
It stays cool no matter what.

The spec sheet for the TT 238 which uses the identical components is 
rated at 2KW.
