Then check the 20 ohm 1/2 watt resistor R5 on the display board that
supplies the lamps. Two 1820 should have cooked all the smoke out of
that resistor if its truly 20 ohms 1/2 watt. That being a nonstandard
value makes me wonder if its really 10 ohms 1/2 watt, then it should
have survived though run warm.
Since the 1820 is rated for only 1000 hours, though the resistor will
help, you might want to buy a box of 10. Mouser www.mouser.com says 68
cents each in 10 lots and they have 1877 in stock. $9.36 a box of 10 at
McMaster-Carr, in stock.
Digi-Key has none in stock and requires you purchase 400 minimum at 46.5
cents each. Go Mouser or LEDs.
