That was my thinking. However, immediately after sending that message, I worked
TO5U 599 both ways. I was using only a wire doublet antenna. I did, however,
have my Centurion running about 600 watts, which helped a bit.
The bands don't appear to be dead so much as verys sporadic. I'm listening to
15 m right now, and the noise goes up and down by 15 dB over a 30-second
period. Very weird.
