John,

Hopefully Bob's suggestion solves it, but a next-step strategy might be to take 
a good look at solder connections.  I have an Omni VI with a display board that 
has had problems with solder joints.  I got it used and it came with a display 
board that was obviously worked on in the past.  I've solved some of it's 
problems by re-soldering a couple spots.  But, some of the LED's on the display 
are still intermittent after a couple tries on my part...  I don't know any of 
the history behind the work done on that board, but anyway, that may be helpful 
if "exercising the connectors" doesn't do it for you.
