Since the Thunderbolt has no internal RF switching or relays this should be
easy to accomplish but with an external RF switching system.
However, you will need to arrange a method to switch the inernal bias system
from Standby to Operate, Otherwise, in operate it sits there idling at
about 400 watts DC and thus generates lots of heat. Nice in the Winter but
will tax the AC in the Summer.

Mike, these are two totally different animals.
The QSK-5 speeds up the amp switching, while the 318 slows it down.
Both solutions can work, but it also depends a bit on the amp and how fast
its relay switches.
What rig and amp are you trying to mate.
