I second that, I don't think I would ever part with my Paragon II. I use my
Orion 99% of the time, but on many occasions I will switch on the Paragon II if
I am just in a listening mood. It has been my experience you don't see many
come up forsale.

I paid over $600 for my Paragon II back in 2012. The Paragon II is much
more reliable
than the earlier Paragons. The VCO board problems were fixed, and the
back up battery problems were eliminated when Ten Tec redesigned the uP
board to use
Dallas chips. Cutting one wire opens up the TX for 60 meters and MARS. The
receiver
is general coverage and most hams like the audio. Considering your friend
has the
matching power supply, and the list of optional filters, I'd be asking for
a least $700.00 for
the Paragon gear. The problem is the stigma that results from the poor eHam
reviews
which are almost entirely based on the issues that plagued the early
Paragon models.

I use my Paragon side by side along an Omni VI that I bought from
Barry on this group.
