Neither is the Centurion -- it's 1 kW CW, 1.3kW PEP. :) 2dB more power than the KPA500. In favor of the Centurion, it's a tube amp, so it will likely be cleaner than the KPA, which is solid state.

I recently bought a used ACOM 1010 that K6SRZ had brought home from a DXpedition. It's 500W CW, 800W PEP, runs on 120V or 240V, and does not have QSK. I bought it because it's a tube amp (4CX800), so it should be a bit cleaner than the KPA500, and that matters when we set up two stations on the same band for California QSO Party county expeditions.
