Jack Burchfield assisted with his team of engineers did the overall design.
Jack knows about as much about DSP software design as I do about Brain
Surgery. 
What I liked about his concept was the idea of having two different receiver
technologies.
Gives us the best of both worlds.

Some argue they want both receivers to be equally good.
Equally good also means equally bad because there are arguments for both
technologies.
