A good way to test a TX antenna is to listen to one of the many SDR
receivers available on line
<<
We can use the reverse beacon network. RBN, select DX spot HF > 160m
http://www.reversebeacon.net/dxsd1/dxsd1.php?f=3
The SDR return the signal intensity in db and you can compare with other
callers at same time. Also RBN keep a report archive you can download raw
data, using excel you can filter band and time.

This feature allow you to run A/B test and later download the results, just
keep record of the time you switch A or B antenna.
Another advantage is to know if the band is open, thing not so common
nowadays, I don't raise a skimmer in EU for several weeks, JA, ZL or VK
since August.
