I don't think that's fair.  Hardly no company offers weather related wear
and tear warranty support.  I wouldn't even have asked them to.
I own 7 of their VHF antennas and they all work well.  I like them.

Really?! How many calls have you made? If only one and then come out here to
flame someone who has done more for hams than almost any other mfg is bad
form. Try calling again, maybe something slipped through the cracks.  And I
suggest protecting the white plastic switch with black tape to protect it
from the UV rays.
 
I ALWAYS cover Cushcraft's fiberglass insulators with black tape...it helps
it last longer!
