| For years, I've been making tags two ways, both successful:1) Using flat aluminum stock and letter/number punches. I affix the aluminum stock to the cable with stainless steel wire. Search for "1/4" 36pc Letter & Number Stamp Punch Set" or similar. 2) Using flat aluminum stock and Brother TZ labels. They've withstood the Florida UV very well.
