these sound as typical of Hwy lighting tower as well, but this is a
dream tower for the right person, it wont be cheep to fab up a fixed
schism to hold a rotor and mast but at the same time not prohibitive.
here in the central Texas region these bases are core drilled, example
5' diameter say 10-20' deep and the bolts are near welded into the
matching bottom section bolt pattern, or as has already been suggested,
if this is you're forever tower, just core drill a bigger hole and drop
in the tower base a determined depth, you're really only limited by your
checkbook and imagination in balance with a pre made monopole like say a
Tasjanian TM-90 .
I have had monopole towers like the tm-90 i loved the weight and wind
rating, but finally just gave up on the offset rotor and drive scheme,
it made for a lot of problems i grew tired of, but in this case if the
money is working to your favor you can and have soo much interior room
inside the top section you can move away from the offset and just be
centered as you were implying early in your search. this will be a fun
project for some and a ball buster for the wrong person.

Hello Esteemed Cloud Climbers :)
I may be acquiring a self-supporting ~85ft (after assembled) galvanized
steel monopole. Its diameter is graduated from a ~5ft base to 2ft on top (3
sections). I'm planning to use it for rotated amateur radio HF/VHF beams.
I've spoken with the tower brand (a local company) that will sell me the
concrete bolt kit (a couple dozen ~6' bolts), but they're not able to
provide any other details about the tower or concrete footing requirements.
Apparently each tower is built by different manufacturers based on needs,
but they don't track them by serial number - just slap their brand name on
it. They all use the same bolt types by their spec. I'm sure they're not
able to provide me footing requirements for liability reasons, since I'm not
the original purchaser.
I'm wondering if any of you have reasonable options for footing design
without spending too much on engineering costs. I understand the foundation
costs will be non-trivial - pricey bolts, fairly extensive rebar cage,
significant block of concrete, etc. My local code requirements don't require
actual engineering details.
