Good point, Ward. Looking at the Hepburn forecast for tomorrow, the whole
southeastern USA may be ablaze with activity but I'd never know it here in
Illinois. The only people here who regularly work outside the areas you
delineated on 2m and above are the guys with huge towers, massive beam
arrays, etc. I heard VE3OIL once (didn't work him though). I heard a W5
in Texas during an auroral opening too. Those are about the extent of
what I've been able to hear.
So I can see how different gentlemen's agreements and protocols can
develop in each area. What is done in southern CA may be quite different
than what is done here.
