and I never said I planned on going to battle against "sizeable
branches".  I'm not that stupid no matter what you might think. Most
of the branches at 12' around here are mere twig-like annoyances.  I'd
still rather have the mast push the small branch out of the way than a
$100 antenna.

What's wrong with 12' 6" if you watch what you are driving under,
which you should be doing anyway?  12' 6' is still a foot under legal
limit.
