Dave:

It basically makes a larger screen. I have two monitors, a 17" and a 15".
I have the 15" set to the right fo the 17". When you move the mouse to
the right it keeps on trucking and shows up on the 15" screen.

The advantage; you can have more open windows that you can see v.s.
minimizing some windows and opening them when needed.

Its very helpful in my situation as I run my station via remote control
which requires a few apps running at the same time and its nice to be able
to see/monitor all the required windows without minimizing/maximizing.
I.E. I have Writelog running on the 17" screen and my remote software
running on the 15".

My earlier pc was very easy to upgrade (running win 98). I just added a
cheap video card which win98 pickedup on and I had a second monitor. On
my new XP machine, I had to order a dual monitor card so it would work
properly.

Either way, its nice to have two monitors running.
