Like others, I too have had no problem with CAT/5, standard unshielded, running three systems, switch, cable modem, router, and two 1KW stations. Being a computer science instructor, I emphasize to my students, do not run these cables parallel to possible EMI sources. I have done that in my shack and as I said, no problems. If you do choose to use shielded cable, make darn sure the grounds are solid, don't want to create any fancy antennas! My 2 cents worth...Good luck Mark, WT6P Sacramento, CA |
