Dick, that was a patch to fix a network problem. I always seem to get an
e-mail with the download address before it appears on the website. Not sure
if it is something to do with those who are fully paid-up or whether I am
just privileged! Chris G3SJJ

Just about to start the evening's celebrations at 1717z so a later response
may not have made any more sense. HNY

Am I missing something here? I went to writelog.com/downloads, and I
see an update called wlognet1052.zip. Is this the 10.52D that is being
mentioned on the reflector? Based on the info regarding this upgrade,
why would anybody install it if there was never any networking that
might happen on their computer?

It reads:

"This patch fixes certain TCP/IP networking crashes. Because the bug
slowly destabilized the system DDE libraries, the symptoms of the bug
were varied and there is no single easy way to reproduce the problem
(which also means there is not 100% certainty that this patch fixes all
problems with TCP/IP networking). However, this patch definitely fixes a
WriteLog TCP/IP networking bug.

This patch must be installed on all machines in a TCP/IP network, and it
will fail to connect to any WriteLog machine running an older version.

Instructions:
With WriteLog not running, unzip the above download into WriteLog's
\programs directory. It will replace two files: wlognet32.dll and
wlognetdde.exe."

Now, does the average user (home based, no network and no plans for
such) really need this upgrade? Or is this something that would be
needed if the operating environment would be SO2R or such? Just
curious.

Now fully working and looking good, except I seems to have lost my Help
file. A real wish for the next version :

Select Number of radios 2, select 2nd radio as sub RX so that sub rx
freq shows in entry window to the left of the Left/Right indicator and
follows freq when sub rx is tuned. Then when a callsign is keyer into
the Right Log Entry field, it can be worked and stored in the 2nd VFO
bandmap.

This would greatly enhance the technique known as SO1.5R which I use in
the upcoming RSGB AFS Contest. So, Run on say 3525 and S&P on sub rx.
Stations worked or waiting to be worked on the sub rx added to the 2nd
VFO Bandmap would be visible and would be S&P much quicker and more
efficient. I believe N1MM can do this.

Another very useful enhancement would be to allow stations to be spotted
only to the machines on the network, not for genral consumption.
