Hi John,
I just discovered something amazing. Although I had to build a small
Circuit to Key the radio using WriteLog for CW, I do not have to do it
for RTTY FSK.
All I have connected from my Computer to my Radio is the straight
through serial cable and my PSK port connected to my sound card and when
I punch the RTTY button on the front of my FT-2000 the WriteLog MMTTY
program works fine . I start Writelog, then I click on the Window tab
and select RTTY window, then when the RTTY Control Panel pops up, I
selected Option, setup and went to the Misc tab and set the TX port to
COM-TxD (FSK).
Of course, I still can use my other interface for PSK and for AFSK mode
which will use my sound card and the Packet port also sends the received
data for either RTTY or PSK to my computer . At first I thought it might
be sending the data through my Packet port, but I disconnected it and
the Writelog MMTTY is still sending it through my Serial cable connected
to the CAT port, although by disconnecting the packet port which is
connected to my sound card, I lost the receive data. I was not aware
that I could do it this way. WOW, very simple. I can even monitor the
Diddle using the Moni function.
Apparently the info I sent that stated you could not use Computer
control and FSK over the same port is simple not true with the FT-2000
and my computer.
