There is absolutely nothing wrong with screw anchors provided that the
proper ones are used for the anticipated structural loads.  The electric
utility industry routinely utilizes screw anchors for guyed structures of
all kinds and sizes. The disadvantage to the average ham is that we
generally don't have access to the proper equipment to install the large
anchors that should be employed with a major tower installation, thus giving
concrete anchors the edge from an construction standpoint.
