I just find it interesting that you jump to the immediate conclusion that they are "...importers of off-shore illegal knockoffs". Why take make such allegations against this (or any other) company without knowing the facts? Why not call and ask them first? Why not check to see if the LMR brand name has been licensed? If it IS an illegal knockoff (from outside or INSIDE USofA borders) - and I doubt they would admit it to you - then be so kind as to inform the ham community, as well as the proper authorities. You seem to imply that it is wrong to purchase items not made in the USofA. It's an international community when it comes to business. My ham gear is largely made outside of the USofA.....hurray for those American manufacturers bucking the trend! I believe, and I think it is clear from the Jefatech web site, that it is THEIR version of the product or perhaps made by LMR and labeled as Jefatech. I never had a doubt. If LMR elects to pursue an infringement, then more power to them. I'm sure that they are aware of Jefatech....I'd be surprised if they didn't keep track of their competition.

Please let us know what Jefatech has to say. Perhaps they'll clarify their web page you find objectionable as a result of your call.

Cheers,

Indeed, I AM quite the cynic, when it comes to the wireless industry, or

talking about the entertainment industry.

Actually, I'll just call Jefatech and ask them what it is.

I have spent some time looking over Jefatech's website, and it's
interesting.. they've got lots of real live cable advertised as mfr by Times
Microwave, and then this one LL400/LMR400, which is a local product of some
sort, and may be fine stuff. They, at first glance, appear to be a
reasonable dealer, and my only gripe is with how that one web page is
structured.

Perhaps it's the curse of the world wide web.. you see only the one page,
rather than the whole glossy catalog.
