I have a KT-34XA upgraded to a KT-36XA but instead of the new M2 boom
to element clamps I use ones sold by DX Engineering. They look somewhat
similar to the old KLM clamps but are much stronger in the material used and
how they attach to the boom. About 8 feet above the XA I have a Cushcraft
40-2CD. The booms are parallel. I have not noticed any interaction. When
I first put up the original KT-34XA about 16 years ago I was worried about
interaction and put the booms at right angles to each other. Bad idea. I had
lots of interaction with high SWR on 40 and odd performance on 15m.
Putting the booms parallel solved the problems. The 40-2CD does have
the parasitic element grounded to the boom.
