Matt: Here is a copy of a statement on the Mosley web page .
•"Use of a Balun or Not
We do not require the use of a balun. It is not needed"

I believe that the Yagi Test book states that each antenna was tested
using the companies recommended configuration. If the Mosley was tested
with the coax connected to the yagi driven element without a line choke,
that can explain the terrible test results for it, probably because there
was significant power spill over at the feedpoint to the coax outer shield.
It is interesting to note that the Mosley claimed gain is about 2db
greater than other tri band beams. They use dbd reference instead of dbi
while I think their claims would be about right if they used dbi reference.
I suspect if you used a good line choke at the coax feed point and subtract
2.1db from their claimed gain you would have a typical triband beam.
