"Serving" is the word you're looking for.  Rohn's serving tool was the CST1,
but I don't think they still make it.  Hubbell and (I think) Klein also make
(or made) similar versions.

there's also the venerable Molly Hogan to make an eye in a stranded cable. Or, the full on Eye Splice (although to be honest, I can't imagine feeding strands under other strands with wire rope, but I'm sure there's people who've done it)


Serving seems to have fallen out of favor over the years, with preforms
generally being preferred by Rohn and most other manufacturers.


Labor costs and consistency, probably.
