Chris,

My club station used 7/16 DIN and Heliax all the way to the underside of the operating desks, through the protectors and patch bay. For the baluns at the antenna, we have swapped connectors, or ordered equipment with a 7/16 DIN female. A short 9913-F7 coax whip with a male UHF on the radio end, makes the transition to the radio.

Here's the nearly complete patch bay. DXF files are available if anyone want them. http://n2mo.org/temp/thumb_1205151434.jpg

I have never used 7/16 DIN connectors. It seems impossible to find an
adapter to go from 7/16 DIN to UHF. As hams, we need to plug into our rigs
and antennas with UHF connectors - How do you jump the gap??
