I have a Mitsubishi ductless air conditioner/heat pump in
my ham shack. The outside unit is 1 foot from the shack.
The 106 foot Yagi tower is 50 feet away from the AC and
I have a receive loop on the ground right next to the
AC unit. No QRM whatsoever on any band, any antenna.
Even when the tower is cranked down.

Besides the zero RFI, it is an absolutely wonderful unit
making just about zero acoustic noise. The down side is that
Misubishi is quite expensive. Since getting it, I learned
that I could have saved a lot of money by going to:

www.alpinehomeair.com

They have a DIY installation where you put it in, and
then call a pro to come out and do the actual initial
commissioning/turn on. Of course, I can't vouch for
any RFI details on that brand.

I am considering a mits heat pump for the house. The shack would 20 or so feet

controlling interference

Do any of you use these units and have undesired effects? I had a ham friend
(sk) years ago put one in his shack and he never mentioned any undesired
effects to me.

The closest tower is about 130 feet away from the shack. Mits says they have
no rfi kits to add if needed.
