Mine slipped during the first year that I had it, in 2011, with a 2” 
non-chromolly mast.
I was lucky after that and it didn’t slip again since as I took a chance in 
2011 and again when I replaced my tower in 2018 and kept the stock mast clamp.
C31XR 1’ above thrust bearing and XM240 14’ above.
Not sure why I didn’t replace the mast clamp with the tower change out, I guess 
I forgot about it the design issue.
