There is lots of misleading info on the Internet, but the Amphenol 182102 is
indeed solderless and comes with a center pin designed for crimping.

describes the connector as solderless.

In addition, the instruction manual that comes with the DX Engineering
Ultra-Grip 2 shows crimping the center conductor of the Amphenol 182102 as part
of the installation process.
I think the documentation on the Internet that describes the connector as
crimp/solder may refer to the option of soldering the center pin if you wish.
