I still think my first suggestion is the simplest and easiest - Loosen
rotator clamps...verify actual antenna heading....while making sure the
mast is completely free from turning, move controller (any brand) to
agree with actual heading of the antenna then re-tighten clamps. So, if
the antenna was blown to a NW heading, the controller will now indicate
the same. Should not affect rotor loop or anything else. You essentially
are just getting the controller to catch up with the new wind induced
antenna heading.

It absolutely will....Just go to the first menu option called
"calibrate" and set the Green Heron to read the position that you
antenna is currently at. No need to do anything outside except verify
the actual antenna heading. I like to use Polaris (the north star) here.
But most smartphones can run a free compass app set for "true north" not
magnetic north which is a 10 degree difference here.

magnetic north and the Hy-Gain rotators have only 360 degree rotation.
If the antenna is 30 degrees off alignment and one adjusts the "north"

north but will be off by a variable amount in the rest of the range -

degrees and you have a misaligned antenna that is another 20 degrees off in the
same direction, why not just set the parameter to 30 degrees and not worry

you don't have enough of a coax loop for the extra rotation.

I just replaced my rotor (with a HAM-IV) on the bottom of my US Tower 55’
flagpole with a SteppIR on top. The old rotor was off the tower for a few weeks and I
suspect the wind blew the beam a little.
Now my bearings are about 30-40 degrees off. So when my controller says I
am pointed due North, the beam is actually pointed NNW.
I know we could lower the tower and repoint the beam. But I’m looking for
suggestions on how to reorient the antenna from the ground.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
