Felipe,

I see there are lots of responses that mention the Millen high voltage type
connector.

Perhaps there are different types of these available.  As to the single-pole
type fitted to my Drake L7 amplifier, I think it's positively the most
UNSAFE HV connector type I have ever had in the shack.  A 'must' for
replacement in my opinion - no debate necessary, nor contra views
entertained.

MHV; SHV; and specialist parts by Amphenol, LEMO etc are more suitable than
the abominable Millen.

Some additional suggestions:
Don't use an RF-type connector; a single-pole type; or one that is not
specifically designed to carry high voltage at the current you require.

Use screened cable (single or double screened coax of the appropriate rating
for the DC) for the HV wire between PSU and amplifier and ensure that BOTH
ends of the cable become grounded BEFORE the centre pin of the chosen
connector(s) mate.

For a grounded-grid type amplifier, ensure there is a suitable low-ish
resistance path between B- rail and chassis grounds in both PSU and
amplifier (I use 100 Ohm as my typical overall figure and install multiple
parallel resistors to guard against component failure).  Install protection
diodes on B- rail in amplifier to clamp it to within a few Volts of chassis
ground in the event of HV flashover.  Use multiple and adequately rated
components.

Implement an interlock scheme where the PSU CANNOT deliver HV without being
connected fully and properly to the amplifier

If you don't really need to move the PSU and amplifier around too often,
consider a hard-wired (connector-less) arrangement.

Use a separate ground bonds between HV PSU, amplifier chassis and station
ground.

<soapbox>Of course, radio amateurs like to save money, cut corners and
generally show how clever they are at getting results even with sloppy
'engineering'.  Working with high voltage requires thought and discipline,
not cleverness.</soapbox>

Hi,

I need to choose a connector for plug the HV power supply to RF deck. 
Which one to choose?

Is the amphenol ms-3106a-2817s a good idea? This one has 15 pins, and is 
used on harris RF-110 to connect PS to RF deck, but RF110's PS is only 
2200 volts.
Do you have information if this will survive 3500vdc without arcing? I 
got a spec sheet for it, but that was not clearly stated.
