Sorry, Carl, that isn't correct: Measures was not banned for his
theories (wrong and tiresome though they were).
He was actually banned for bad *behavior*, which was tolerated far
longer on AMPS than it would have been on many other reflectors.
The archives include some very ugly episodes which drove many readers
away from AMPS, and they have never come back.
