However the 2 Holer HF-2500 doesnt have that problem which points to an 
inadequate size core for the DX.

I happen to have a 2 holer on the bench right now and it runs fine at 2200W 
key down and has since the owner purchased it in 1995. It  is here for PS 
refurb (caps and resistors) and new meter lamps.

Im impressed with the build quality but not with the filter board placement.
