Also, you dont want to mount
a plate choke parallel to a sidewall, nor the chassis. The
stray C will screw up the choke,
and shift its series resonances... down in freq.... which
could easily cause catastrophic results.
IT seems that this effect could be used as an advantage on multi-band amps.
If the resonance is below a WARC band, a conductive paddle could be
designed to follow the bandswitch position, pulling the resonance
further downward, out of the way.
