Ive had no problems from squeezing the Ameritron choke into Alpha 76/78's
etc which is about as tight as you can get.

Also, bypass caps have to be installed at base of plate choke.
Also, you dont want to mount
a plate choke parallel to a sidewall, nor the chassis. The stray C
will screw up the choke,
and shift its series resonances... down in freq.... which could
easily cause catastrophic results.
If you do mount parallel to sidewall or chassis, choke should be at
least 3 x its diameter away
from surrounding metal. Vert mounting solves these issues.
