I sigh with you. Then again, back in the 50's and 60's, you could wire some
things up point to point, and come away with a pretty cool gadget.
Nowadays, everything's composites and surface mount. The state of the art
has moved beyond the ability of some of us to be artful anymore.
It's just like the old cars which you could fix yourself. Now, you need to
have an EE degree.
The future isn't what it used to be, but then again, it never was.
