Hopefully the organizers of the lively IOTA-contest with a 12h out of
24h-category don´t read this - it is so bad to know to be a victim of
apocalypse...
Irony off: Any time reduction should be in recognition of
everyday-time-budgets. If the majority of participants don´t make use of
the available time - aren´t organizers than like a car manufacturer
offering only ONE top model regardless of consumer´s budgets? (Pardon,
Single-Band as time-restricted category? Not too good for the big-guns
then loosing a lot of qsos when we cannon-fodder populate only one band...)
In WWDX SSB 2006 about 10 percent of all SOAB-participants operated
longer than 30 hours (http://www.dl8mbs.de/40984/45289.html).
Sorry to say - but the fulltime-wish seems to be kind of a minority
topic (of course a vociferous minority) with an undertone that the
majority or participants aren´t "real contesters".
Flame suit on and best 73, Chris
