If there are nonstandard emergency frequencies in use, publish them
all over the internet, especially before a major contest.

3.815MHz is the Antilles net frequency but this is not well known
outside of the Caribbean.

Publishing that there are frequencies in use for an ongoing emergency
as soon as possible goes a long way.

It might not guarantee a clear frequency but at least some people may
know that the frequency is in use for emergency comms.

Also, using any frequency for emergency comms between 7125 to 7200 is
now a bad idea during a contest weekend. Throughout the Caribbean
(except for Puerto Rico) there are no restrictions on emissions below
7125. During the contest, lots of frequencies below 7125 were pretty
clear.

By the way, which caribbean countries have access to the 60m band? I
know for sure that 9Y has it. In fact they have the full band from
5.25 to 5.45 MHz, 1.5kw power. This can be invaluable in an emergency
and no contests take place on this band.

Not apologizing for QRM but I think that both contesters and emergency
comms folks can come to a reasonable compromise.
