I'm sorry that happens, Dale. I'll confess I sometimes stretch the
boundaries of what seems possible because I have big antennas and a low
noise environment at W5KFT. That said, I generally won't request a move
unless I've heard someone within a state or two -- unless it's someone like
W5WMU and know we can make a QSO on virtually any band by brute force.

I consider who's making the request. Years ago in NAQP, N9RV worked me on
160 and asked to move to 10. Huh? This was maybe 10PM local time. I said
okay, and sure enough, we made the Q. :-)

I really don't mind being asked to QSY, to a band that is OPEN. I really
don't care for theblatant request that is repeated and repeated for QSY to a
band thatis NOT open, and hasn't been open for hours. ESPECIALLY when
theresponse to the explanation, (at 35 - 40 wpm - if they can ask "at speed"
they SHOULD be able to COPY the response at that speed) is ignored, not just
once, but two or three times. It ALMOST gets easier, and leaves more points
in my log, if I say "Yes, meet me"And let them spend the time finding out
the band is not open. I already spent that time.

Have a great day,
