Hi Tim (and reflector):

If you read back through the archive of this reflector (going back
more than two years) you'll find that there has been lots of
discussion, both pro and con, on the Omni-VI/Omni-VI Plus and other
models we have manufactured over the years.

The Internet has turned out to be a major influence in the amateur
radio "business". No longer are purchasing decisions based on ARRL
Product Reviews and (literally) word of mouth. You can read back
through the archive of the Ten-Tec Internet reflector and read more
than two years' worth of comments, pro and con on our equipment.
Not a bad way to decide for yourself if you want to invest in a
particular piece of gear.

I have often wondered if the Internet is a positive or negative
influence for Ten-Tec on decisions to purchase equipment.

Our Omni-VI Plus owners are the most intelligent, demanding hams
around. You have to be a little outside the norm to understand
what the benefit of owning one of our rigs is in the first place.
With that in mind, we are held to a very high standard by our
owners, a standard that we fully believe we are able to meet.

I'm hoping that I can provide some perspective for the comments
that appear on the reflector about our equipment. We have
thousands of Omni series transceivers in circulation. Our total
service department time needed for those transceivers is one
lone technician, who services not only the Omni-VI, but the Omni-V,
Paragon, Paragon II, and our older obsolete handheld VHF rigs.

Thanks and 73,
Scott Robbins, W4PA
