hated the clicks but a sidetone that increased with AF gain was fine with
me, so I figured out the plug 52 option and pulled the plug the day after I
got back from Dayton with my shiny new VI+ some years back.

Plug 52 is the well know cure for clicky QSK in your headphones. It's on

logic board and control board. Just unplug it. QSK will greatly improve.

QSK with V1.02 is pretty damn fast as long as plug 52 is removed on the
IF/AF circuit board.
