Thanks Denton. Sorry folks. I forgot about that. Guess I've been using
these funny measurements too long.
As Denton says, a meter is about a yard.
To be almost exact it is 3.05 ft. (and exactly 3.048 ft.)
For all my planning I simply use "3".
When I build, I use the exact value (if needed).
Without exception, every time I quoted a meter value during this topic, it
wouldn't matter if you used 3 or 3.05 or 3.048. That's the beauty in these
openwire fed antennas.
With coax and resonate antennas, it's another story. Then you do need to be
exact.
Next time I state a value in meters (except for bands) and fail to quote the
approximate length in ft., I promise to buy everyone a beer - but you gotta
come to Munich to collect ;-)

Think of a meter as a long yard or slightly over 3' and it's easy to
visualize.....
I have often dearly wished we were on metric on this side of the
pond...makes it a lot easier to do the math in my head...but then, I am a
retired engineering aide!
