I see several problems with setting up a list specificaly for one particular
Ten-Tec rig, especialy one that old.
The first is that interest is high this week, next week everyone will have
said their piece, seen the mods, and so on. They they will have either
dug out their 525's and started to use them, or left them where they sit
and have moved on. Either way, the discussion will have moved on to another
hot topic. It might be another rig, it might be a comparison between the
Orion and a Japanese rig, who knows?
The second reason is combined interest. Many people have accessories that
were not designed for the 525, but work with them. They would be left out
of any discussion on the 525 list and their input would not be heard
on that list.
While this list is fairly busy, IMHO if you took all the rig specific
postings (except maybe the latest) and spread them over a year, you
would have very sparse traffic.
I'm on several other lists like that and it's a surprise to see that I
am still subscribed to them. One of them is the Kenwood R-5000 list, which
has all but stopped. Interestingly there was a long R-5000 discussion on
rec.radio.shortwave, mostly by the same people on the Yahoo list, so it
goes in cycles. :-)
