You can put outboard band pass filters to limit some of the problems of being close to other rigs. However, if you have two stations the need to be close, let one run vertical polarization and one horizontal, if feasible. If the pass band is made to be just the phone band, that may help. One issue is creating a sufficient filter without full band response, ie. phone or CW sub band only. Another idea that is very possible to implement is to construct a Helical Resonator to notch out the other station. Notches from 20 dB to 40 dB or better can be home constructed.

Double shielded coax makes a noticeable improvement as well.
Look in the ITT radio handbooks for
helical coil resonator, a coil in a can to describe it simply.
