a) For all practical purposes, isn't that just saying the same thing in a
different way?
b) Let me rephrase the statement from F12 more honestly: A resistive pad
will improve the SWR bandwidth of any antenna. A length of coax may
provide just enough loss to yield an SWR bandwidth that pleases you.
