I think its a BIG mistake to filter spots to only allow spots from close by stations. I would not trust the neighbors (or for that matter one only a thousand miles away) crappy antenna on his skimmer

The above statement sums it up perfectly. I never heard K3ZO frantically running stations at 40 wpm but was always amazed and impressed with the end result. I just expressed that exact sentiment wit

John, Here is my take on self spotting. On CW you have a perfectly fair situation. If you can generate a signal that can be heard by a Skimmer station you will be spotted automatically by the RBN. Th

John, I am trying to understand. You want to use the spotting network but only want to see spots for Station 2 that are generated by someone other than Station 2? In both cases you are using informat

I will attempt to explain the rationale. In CW contests everyone gets spotted automatically. All you have to do is call CQ and if you have a signal that can be heard you will be spotted on the RBN. I

The question was whether everyone in every category could self spot or why allow everyone to self spot. The answer is that it makes it more nearly fair for everyone versus people complaining after th
