I had a similar experience on a Dodge pickup a few years ago. The bolt holding the cable to the engine block just broke off but my ground path was the throttle linkage cable where it touched the mast

Many thanks to all. I have found lots of info to read about and work with.The ARRL site has a bunch of info. I have a few issues to address. I do use resistor type plugs.The wires are Ford OEM wires.
