Nice blast from the past, Lee.
That was last century.

At the time that decision was made, there were a couple of SDR radios on the
market which didn't even have a volume control.  You had to use the mouse or
keys.  The Jupitor was one of those radios with a front panel added to it.
At that time, I doubt if anyone even knew which way the new market would go.

HOWEVER, by the time the Omni VII came along, I think it was clear that
users of knob-radios wanted separate AF and RF gain controls.  I will join
you in shaking my finger at them for that one.

There are some engineering choices ten Tec makes that make no sense to me -
like...no separate volume control on my Jupiter. Wha wha wha what!?
